On 23 October 2026, the Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Seychelles signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) paving the way for the imminent deployment of 51 additional Tanzanian Prisons Officers to serve in the Seychelles Prisons Service.
Building on bilateral cooperation established in 2018, the partnership has facilitated the deployment of 23 Tanzanian Prisons Officers in 2018, 13 in 2022 and 16 in 2024, to serve in Seychelles Prisons. The upcoming deployment of 51 additional officers will bring the total number of Tanzanian Prisons Officers serving in Seychelles to 103, further strengthening institutional cooperation and expanding international employment opportunities.
